Book review the couple next door5/7/2023 ![]() ![]() My copy is covered in suncream and seawater, but I’m definitely lending it to my Mum for her to read on her hols. ![]() It’s honestly a spiral, there are so many twists! I really don’t want to give too much away, you just need to give it a read! It keeps you on your toes, questioning every character and their motives. The baby is then taken in the night and the book continues tracing what happened. The story is about a couple who leave their baby in her cot whilst they go for drinks next door (that’s where the title comes in). This book was definitely one I didn’t want to end! I like the feeling of not wanting to put the book down, but then letting myself only read small parts so I can drag it out. ![]() I’ve heard people comparing this to The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl, but I think this is on an even better level! I love thrillers I don’t ever read anything else because I just love the hair-raising suspense. I hadn’t heard of the book before and I noticed that there were only a few left on the shelf, so I thought it must be good! I picked up a few, but in the end I chose The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena. When I went on holiday in June I did my routine thing of going to WH Smith at the airport to pick out a book for when I’m lounging in the sun. A domestic suspense debut about a young couple and their apparently friendly neighbors-a twisty, rollercoaster ride of. ![]()
